Dear, MarcE.
Well, here we are again. Another year has flown by and we are fast coming towards the end of it, and I don’t know where it has gone to.
But we still found some time in amongst all the things we have done this year to bring some songs to you once more, which I hope brings you some comfort in some small way.
I have to say, I have come to like doing these tributes, and I hope you like receiving them. Once again I am amazed by the shear diversity of what has passed through my modem.
Once again the power of the Internet has made the world a smaller place and brought the contributors together.
And I can’t think of much more to say this year, so I’ll shut up and let the music speak for itself!
Merry Christmas!!
Best Regards
Derek Cook,
On behalf of EX5Tech and all Tribute Contributors.
PS: I’d like to say a huge thanks to those who contributed, and a special thanks once again to
our Mixmaster, Fuse, for the mastering of another compilation.
Note: some submitted songs were cover versions of other artists' tunes. Where this is the case, for copyright reasons, they are not included in this web version of the tribute. Some songs also may not be available because the artist does not want their work to be publicly available.

Hello MarcE I haven’t been so proficient this year but I can’t miss this one, not in any year. I heard that you have been programming for new synths, it is good that they can enjoy your sounds. Hope you have good health ! Have a nice Christmas, and all the best for you and your family. Ilkka |

All of the sounds on my effort are pure EX5 and more importantly just MarcE patches. I just love that Ballad 02 guitar sound. I was worried this year, as I had an inspirational block and just didn’t seem to be able to come up with anything I liked. Fortunately “The Commodores” came to the rescue. I was learning “Easy (Like a Sunday Morning)” for my covers band, and just messing about with that song’s chord progression and putting the chords for that song in a different order managed to unleash my creativity again. Anyway, I hope you like the results. Patches used:
MarcE, I hope you enjoy the tribute once more and find some comfort in the thoughts and kindness of the people who have come together this year to offer their music. |

Facade |

Dear MarcE, Merry Christmas! Here's my little contribution to the compilation. It's entitled Facade. This is an electronic beat type track with simple synth lines. A shift from the past two contributions I did. I wanted to come up with as many different styles of music using your EX5 patches. And they are versatile for all music genres! Great work MarcE and inspiring. Well, I hope you enjoy the track and happy holidays to you and the family. Best regards,
Jason Tai |

I wrote this song (Perfect) over 2.5 years ago so I cannot remember which MarcE voice(s) I used. I know it was all EX5 except the SOV choir. For MarcE Be strong. Have faith. May the light of God shine down on you and protect you and your family during this Christmas season. |

I hope you get better soon and enjoy listening to my song. Have a jolly, merry and happy Christmas! Dad helped me on this song by making a simple chord progression for me, and I noodled over the top of it. Patches used:

17 Years Locust |
Iggy |
My "17 Year Locust" was written completely with MarcE's "Neverending Story" patch bank. I overdubbed 4 or 5 times and I used a lot of ribbon controller on the solos. Here in the Eastern U.S. this past summer, we once again had the sound of the 17 year locusts. They won't be back until 2021!!!! Iggy |
